Born: February 19, 1932
Died: March 23, 2017

Herschel Ray Caples, 85, of Jonesboro, passed way Thursday, March 23, 2017
at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. He was born in Bono, February 19, 1932
to Bearl and Effie Caples.

Through the years he worked at several Ford Dealerships and for over 20 years
owned his own business, Jonesboro Auto Service. He was a member of Faith
Freewill Baptist Church, a lifetime member of the VFW and served in the Army
during the Korean War. Herschel enjoyed watching Cardinal baseball, NASCAR
Racing, NBA, NFL and traveling with an RV Group. He also spent time drinking
coffee with his buddies, Mel, Pat and Jim.

Preceding Mr. Caples in death are his parents; first wife, Vauda Baugh Caples;
one grandson, Kevin Wayne Gibson; one great grandson, Logan Ray Gibson;
two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife Anita Michael Caples of the home; a daughter,
Jan (Allen) Biggers; a step daughter, Jerilyn Bowman; two grandchildren,
Jordan Miller and Mallory Gibson Bennett; a great grandchild, Shawna Gibson;
three great great grandchildren Gavin and Karson Reeves and Braxten Bennett;
two brothers, Wayne (Emma) Caples of Rogersville, Missouri and Bearl (Dorothy) Caples,
Jr. of Linsey, Texas; four sisters, Mildred Holt of Jonesboro, Norma (Bob) Cole
of Wright City, Missouri, June (Leon) Hamilton of Bono; Shirley (Frank) Piker
of Kansas City, MO.

Funeral services are Monday, March 27, at 11:00am at Roller-Farmers Union
Funeral Home with Kenneth Winningham, Dean Williams and Kerry Caples.
Burial will follow at Trinity Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Lynn Whitehurst, Blane Caples, Greg Caples, Kelly Caples,
Roger Englert, Drew Nadzam and Tom Snyder. Honorary bearers are Jim Ezell,
Mel Downun, Pat Gray, Gene Martin Joe Barker, Rick Caples, Kenny Wayman and
special honorary bearer, Gavin Reeves.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Sunday from 5:30pm to 8:00pm.

The family wishes to express special thanks to caregivers, Tammy, Donna, Marsha,
Donna and Shirley.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers to consider making memorials to
