Born on April 4, 1943, in Hutchison, Kansas, Fred was the son of Elmer and

Fannie V. (Hale) Curless. On December 5, 2015, he married Carolyn Sue

Murray-Trusty.

;

Fred was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Marvin Elmer Curless.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Murray-Trusty; a daughter, Denise Wright

(Bobby) of Bentonville; two sons, David Murray (Catheren) of Ramona,

California, and Darryl Murray (Jennifer) of Cedar City, Utah; a sister, Patricia

"Patti" Manke of Derby, Kansas; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren,

and numerous nieces and nephews.

With an entrepreneurial spirit, Fred successfully ran a water softening service for

many years in California and later established a construction business in

Arkansas. He and Carolyn were devoted members of the Assembly of God faith,

finding solace and joy in Gospel music, particularly the traditional hymns of the

church. They cherished attending concerts of their favorite artists and groups,

often traveling for the experience. Fred's hobbies included camping, boating,

and fishing.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations in Fred's honor

to a cause close to his and Carolyn's hearts: The Gospel Music Hymn Sing

Foundation, PO Box 1182, Morristown, TN 37816, or through online contributions

at https://gmhs-341846.square.site.

Though He's gone, He is not forgotten.
Though absent, He remains in spirit.
Though once a worker, He now rests.
