in remembrance of William Robert "Bob" Carr
William Robert (Bob) Carr,
November 4, 1929 - June 4, 2022
William Robert (Bob) Carr, 92, of Cabot entered into eternal rest Saturday,
June 4, 2022.He was born November 4, 1929 near Big Cabin,
Oklahoma
to the late Jesse Wallace Carr and Lillian Gertrude Howell-Carr.Bob
graduated from Wilder Idaho High School in 1948
and attended college
while a member of the Air Force. He earned
an Associate's Degree in
Business through
Arkansas State University in Beebe.Bob served
honorably in the United States Air Force for
twenty years, retiring as an E-
7 Master Sergeant. After retiring, he served as a Veterans'
Administration
Rating Specialist
for seventeen years, permanently retiring in 1989.
Bob served as a technical instructor
and commander (NCOIC) of Air
Command Field
Training Detachment for C-130 aircraft mechanic school.
He was also a C-130 Flight Engineer,
Instructor and Examiner. Bob
served two tours of duty in Southern Asia
(Japan, Okinawa, Korea and
Vietnam), earning the Air Medal for
service in Vietnam.He was also a
civilian commercial pilot, flight instructor,
and instrument pilot.Bob was a
member of Holiday Hills United Methodist
Church in Greers Ferry where
he served as Lay Leader, Sunday School
Teacher, Spiritual Director and
Certified Lay
Speaker, as well as a fully ordained minister. After moving to
Cabot, he became a member of Mount
Tabor United Methodist Church.
Bob enjoyed traveling and
camping.He was a member of Good Sam
International and a
chapter member of Sugarloaf 's camping group.
In addition to his parents, Bob was
preceded in death by his brother and
sister-in-law, John and Patricia Carr; his sister and brother-in-law, Shirley
and Glenn Osborn and stepdaughter, Cindy Bevill.
Those left to cherish his memories,
are the love of his life for thirty-nine
years, Sharon Moore Carr;
his two sons, Michael Carr and Roger (Diane)
Carr; grandson, Larry (Amanda) Carr; granddaughter, Christina (Corey)
Carr-Cody; stepdaughter, Laurie (Joe)
Mobley; stepson, Wayne (Brenda)
Pearson; step-grandsons, Matthew
(Jackie) Pearson and Chad Kerr;
step-granddaughters, Casey (Logan) McInturff,
Michelle Pearson and
Sara (Justin) Winn, as well as several
great-grandchildren and many
extended family members and friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m.,
Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Moore's
Cabot Funeral Home.Visitation will be one hour prior to the services
beginning at 10:00 a.m.Interment will be 1:00 p.m. at Arkansas State
Veterans Cemetery in
