BIRKETT ARCH WYLIE
Born: September 10, 1937
Died: May 22, 2020
Birkett Arch Wylie, age 82, passed
away Friday, May 22, 2020 at his home in Hope, Arkansas.
; He is survived by his wife of just a
few days shy of 59 years Barbara Ann (Adams) Wylie.
They were married May 27, 1961 just prior to his departure for service
in the Army.Barbara joined him in Massachusetts as soon
as she could and they subsequently moved to
Germany to live during his military career.
He is also survived by two sons Steve
Wylie (wife Sherry) & Stacy Wylie (wife Jerita)
all of Hope.Three grandsons Adam Wylie,
Austin Wylie and Andrew Wylie all of Hope.
Two step- grandsons Ben Rose (wife Brittney) of Abilene,
TX and Corey Rose (wife Sydney) of Navarre, FL.
One step-great grandson Maverick Rose of Navarre, FL and one step- great granddaughter Olivia Rose of Abilene,
TX.One sister Ruth Ann Hairston (husband
James) of Hope and many more beloved family members and friends. Birkett was a member of the First
United Methodist Church of Hope and a veteran of the US Army.He owned and operated Wylie Glass and
Salvage, Inc. for many years. He was also a member of
the Good Sam's RV Club.Birkett enjoyed
duck hunting with Barbara especially when their sons were
growing up.He enjoyed spending time
with his family and
extended family at the lake camping and fishing in the early years to houseboating
in the latter years.Many RV trips were
enjoyed with his family, grandsons and friends through the years.Most recently, Birkett and Barbara could be found frequenting
their favorite restaurants in Hope nightly enjoying the company of the restaurant owners as
well as the many friends that passed through.
He was a beloved husband, father and Grampy that will be missed. Family will receive friends at 2:00pm
on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest.
Service will be at 3:00pm on Sunday May 24, 2020 in the BRAZZEL/Oakcrest Chapel. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in
Hope. Arrangements are by BRAZZEL/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope,
Eddie BRAZZEL, Director. by The Arkansas Good Sams
He was born September 20, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio to Arch and Ruth
Hershberger Wylie.
He is preceded in death by his parents and
one brother, Dale Wylie, and his wife, Ann Wylie, of Hope.
Though He's gone, He is not forgotten.
Though absent, He remains in spirit.
Though once a worker, He now rests.
